John Baird and the federal Conservitives are actually serious about shutting down the NORTHERN CLIMATE EXCHANGE (NCE)!! The N.C.E is the north`s leading research institute, which provides the most advanced information about Climate Change to the public, let alone Territorial and Federal politicians.
I am not one to speak outside my expertise, but Baird must be! He says it is time to act and cut greenhouse gas emissions. Who knows the best strategies of cutting emissions? Who knows, feels, and witnesses the direct problem linked to climate change (the increasing warmer Arctic)??? When was the last time Baird traveled on an Acrctic ice-road that has been in existence longer than cars?
The mandate of the Northern Climate Exchange is to provide independent information, develop shared understanding and promote action on climate change.
Thus, the Government of Canada needs the N.C.E, and the N.C.E needs the Government of Canada.
